Caulfield North: 10 Of The Best
"Check your baguette at the door of this gluten-free cafe, where you can also stock up on wheat-free quiches, gnocchi and naughty-but-nice florentines." -Melissa Singer

"Sasha Hawes and daughter Sunny run this wheat and gluten-free cafe, receiving visitors from as far away as Dandenong and Bacchus Marsh. 'You have to use your imagination,' says creative cook Sasha, who prepares the food herself without the aid of cookbooks. She makes macrobiotic burgers (no egg, no dairy) that are so popular, she finds it difficult to keep up with the demand. The cafe sells about 90 pancakes a week, which are baked with ricotta and blueberries. Other bites include vegan rice balls, chicken curries, bolognese sauces and homemade soups to go, plus an array of cakes by an Austrian pastry chef." - Liz Cincotta
